The Raid on Entebbe: The Greatest Hostage Rescue in History
Join us for an exclusive evening with elite IDF commando, Sassy Reuven, as he shares his first-hand account of the IDF’s daring rescue mission.
Sasson (Sassy) Reuven was one of the first IDF soldiers to land in Entebbe, Uganda on a mission to rescue the Jewish passengers of Air France flight AF139, hijacked and held captive by terrorists in July 1976. He was born in Beer Sheva, Israel and served in the elite Red Beret Paratrooper Unit 1973-1976. Sassy has shared his riveting story with thousands of people all over the world!
Help us carry out our own rescue mission! Your cost of attendance directly supports the Canavan Research Foundation, a non-profit that is bringing a groundbreaking clinical trial to life! 8 babies with Canavan Disease, a rare genetic disease that affects mostly Ashkenazi Jews, are seeking to get this revolutionary gene therapy as part of a clinical trial. Without gene therapy, these children will likely never walk or talk, will suffer from seizures and go blind, and will not live past 10 years old. To have a chance at saving these babies, $2 million must be raised. As huge and insurmountable as this may seem, we must remember that miracles can happen and that the Jewish community and the world can pull together to save these babies. As part of tonight’s event, the Ilinetsky family will come and share their story. You can meet two of the babies who will benefit from your support, and learn more about taking steps to prevent genetic disease.
Kosher pizza will be provided thanks to our wonderful sponsor, Kosher Pizza Station!
All proceeds benefit the Canavan Research Foundation.
