Memorial Day is about so much more than BBQs and outings. It is a day when we remember the sacrifices our Military Members have made to ensure our freedoms. This Memorial Day please join us for an event featuring LTC Eli Ziv. LTC Ziv is currently serving our country on deployment in Kuwait. LTC Ziv is a doctor, a Soldier, a husband, a father, a community member, and a bonafide Jewish American hero. Like all of us, LTC Ziv was caught blindsided by the COVID-19 epidemic. He was supposed to be home with his family for Passover, but was unable to return because of a base lock-down and remains abroad. LTC Ziv will talk to us about his experiences serving in the US Military and what it’s like to serve far from home away from his family.

When a Soldier makes a commitment to serve our country they do so with the knowledge that they will go without many of the things we take for granted. Particularly Jewish Soldiers on deployment… they feel an acute sense of loneliness in a very real way when separated from their families. Jewish holidays usually spent at synagogue or with friends morph into sad occasions indeed! Our Jewish Military members lack the basic necessities to celebrate their faith. And so, like in times past, they need our help, they need your connection!

The current COVID-19 epidemic has revealed a great need. It has resulted in thousands of soldiers being locked down on bases throughout the world without any Jewish connections. More than ever, they need our help to feed their souls and nourish their spirits. You can help them by sponsoring a Shabbat package. At a cost of just $75.00 a soldier can eat a fully Kosher Shabbat meal right out of a box. Please help us revitalize the spirits of these Jewish American heros.
