PROPOSED HOTEL IN PICO COMMING BEFORE THE PLANNING COMMISSION

Nov 15, 2021 Article

The SORO Hotel is proposed to serve the Pico-Robertson Community, which is one the contemporary centers of the Jewish – and particularly the orthodox Jewish – life in Los Angeles.  Over 30 synagogues, temples, kollelim, mikvahs and Jewish outreach programs are located in the immediate vicinity of the project site, which is also the center of Jewish restaurants and shopping.  The SORO Hotel will provide a place for guests to stay close to the families or businesses they are visiting, which is also within walking distance of temples and synagogues where they can conveniently worship. The orthodox community has specialized needs that the SORO Hotel will accommodate. The hotel will be respectful in recognizing the laws of Shabbat and Holidays for its guests and their needs.

The SORO Hotel responds to the needs of the Orthodox community and is sensitively designed to accommodate the neighborhood. The SORO Hotel will provide an important contribution to further cultivate and enhance the Jewish experience locally and in greater Los Angeles, and to further reinforce and strengthen the Pico-Robertson commercial district.
